Week 12 - Daniel 3
"Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, Your Majesty." He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."
Where two or more are gathered...
Considering all that has transpired in the last few weeks, most of us are spending more time in much smaller groups. The last week of working from home, my kids not being at school, worshiping with brethren around the world online... All experienced in the last week with my little family of 5.
I cannot help but think about our world's current "isolation" as I read about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Here were three men, alone in their beliefs, but unified in their future. This story reminds me of the verse "Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them." Who else was with them through the fire, but Jesus.
This is true now more than ever! As we worshiped online Sunday morning, He was with us in our home. As homes worshiped around the world, He was there with them. He was with those men in the fiery furnace. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. That will never change.
For as long as this "isolation" will last, we are never isolated from God. He is with us, He always has been, and always will be. Daniel 3:17 says, "the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us."
No matter the fire you are currently in, my prayer is that you allow the Prince of Peace to be in the thick of it with you, and He will see you through.
