Week 3 - Renewed Daily Through Jesus

“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”

2 Corinthians 4:6

Paul declares twice in this chapter, "Therefore we do not lose heart." (2 Cor. 4:1, 16) He had invested much time, energy, and emotion in Corinth to bring Jesus to them, and yet, there were serious problems in the church there.  And considering all that has happened to him as a servant of Jesus: "… hard-pressed … perplexed … persecuted … struck down …," one could see how he might have given up.

Paul had experienced something so amazing on the road to Damascus, and since that, he could not shut-up, and he would not shut-down!  When the Creator makes the light of the knowledge of his glory shine into your heart, you cannot be the same person anymore.

When you KNOW that your message and ministry means that all who believe and confess Jesus as Lord will ultimately be raised from the dead and be together in his presence, you are not crushed, nor in despair, nor abandoned, nor destroyed.

We are renewed each day inwardly, and we fix our eyes on what is unseen; what is eternal!

Father, help me to never lose heart.
