ANTICIPATION How does your family get ready for vacation? If yours is like mine, you make lists of everything you need to do before you leave. You get the car ready by changing the oil, checking the fluids and airing up the tires. You leave phone numbers of where you can be reached with family and friends. You make sure the camera and plenty of film are packed and you eagerly anticipate the moment it's time to leave. How do you get ready to go fishing or hunting? If you're like me, you get up early, you get out the fishing gear, you pack all the necessary supplies (colas, sandwiches, chips, etc.). Then you eagerly anticipate the moment it's time to go. How do you get ready to go to a ball game? If you're like most people, you dress in clothes appropriate for the weather and for the game you'll be attending. You make sure you've got the tickets and any other necessities you might need. Then you eagerly anticipate the moment it's time to head out. How do you get ready for work or school? If you're going to have a good day, you get up early and get everything ready ahead of time. You make sure the kids are ready for school, lunches are properly packed and all the homework is in the backpacks. Then you eagerly anticipate (OK! So I'm pushing this one) the opportunity to provide for your family or advance your educational opportunities. How does your family get ready to worship our heavenly father and the Lord Jesus Christ? Perhaps how we prepare says something about the priorities we place on certain things. Leslie S. Chapman
