Prayerful Leaning


The following prayer was in a recent e-mail distribution.

Dear God,
So far today, I've done all right.
I haven't gossiped,
I haven't lost my temper,
I haven't been greedy, grumpy,
Nasty, or self-indulgent.
I am thankful for that.
But in a few minutes, Lord,
I'm going to get out of this bed.
From that point forward,
I'm going to need some serious help.
Amen!

While humorous in composition, second thought leads one to think that it may be 
a very practical and realistic entreaty.  Most of us recognize that we need all 
the help we can get!

Grab your Bible and read Proverbs 3:5-6.  If your Bible isn't handy, here's the 
way it goes:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Serious help...straight paths...answer to prayer...  Have you turned it over to 
God today?
